AVIVA glassworks was founded in 2006 by Los Altos, CA artist, Pam Foreman.
Pam specializes in warm glass work, a process by which glass is heated
in a kiln, fused and shaped at high temperatures.
Pam has had a lifelong passion for the arts. As a youth she was immersed in her artwork, drawing from a variety of media including textiles, ceramics and soft metals. In college, she continued to pursue this work, as well as studies in music and the sciences. She obtained a Ph.D. in biochemistry and pursued postdoctoral studies at Stanford University. Since then, she has spent the majority of her career doing biomedical research in the Bay Area. However, realizing that her passion for art and creativity had been neglected for too long, she founded her studio.
She participated in a variety of shows last fall
including Open Studio, Olive Hyde Art Guild, and Los Altos Country Club. She has been tremendously well-received and
plans to participate in a number of shows and expand to several Northern
California galleries during 2007.
When she is not doing science or glasswork, Pam enjoys traveling to exotic places, training her two Australian Shepherds and spending time with her husband and two children.
